Small World

Hello, everybody... Intellectual Affairs columnist Scott McLemee here, getting ready to head out to San Francisco soon. Later this week, I'll be live blogging there from the annual convention of the Modern Language Association. I'll be attending sessions, visiting university press booths, and otherwise drifting around the place with eyes and ears open; then opining away here, as the spirit moves.

Things should get underway in earnest starting on Saturday morning. In spite of having highlighted various parts of the conference program, I'm still trying to figure out which panels to check out. If you have any recommendations -- or would like to meet at some point during the long weekend's festivities -- please drop me a line.

UPDATE: In a gesture worthy of inclusion in an updated edition of The Psychopathology of Everyday Life, I left my copy of the program, with certain sessions marked with yellow highligher, behind "by accident" (or was it?) while rushing to catch the train this morning.

So now recommendations are really welcome.
