The story that stood out to me through the insane amounts of media coverage of the VT shootings was this teacher, this old crocodile, who helped save his students' lives. Thank you for putting his beautiful act into words. He truly stood for good when faced with evil.

Hey Mr. Churm,
I'm just a McSweeney's reader, and I typically read your column. Anyway, you've really outdone yourself with this one, and, of the non-joke things on that website, it is really up there. There are very few published writers who couldn't learn a thing or two from this piece about how to write circularly without being cloying.
