650 Courses and 52 Degree Pathways From Community College OER Initiative

April 4, 2018

The Open Educational Resources Degree Initiative established by Achieving the Dream has resulted in the creation of hundreds of new courses and dozens of degree pathways aimed at lowering students' costs and increasing their chances of earning credentials, the organization said in a news release. Achieving the Dream is a network of community colleges, and the 38 institutions in its degree initiative have developed 650 no-cost courses and 52 degree pathways. The colleges participating in the effort -- which is funded by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation, the Shelter Hill Foundation, and the Speedwell Foundation -- gather for their annual meeting in Miami today.
