What are you doing to ensure a diverse audience?
First, we're making our content free to readers and job seekers. Higher education is most diverse among younger academics (who can't afford high prices for information) and institutions such as community colleges that don't have large budgets for subscriptions. We reach all of these people.
Second, we're covering issues that matter to everyone in higher education. We pay attention to women's issues, to historically black colleges, to community colleges -- when diverse readers, and people at diverse institutions come to our site, they find themselves and their institutions and issues covered.
Finally, we're actively seeking marketing opportunities that reach diverse constituencies. From advertising venues to mailing lists to professional conferences, we'll pay special attention to spending our marketing dollars where they'll bring us to the attention of diverse audiences.
