We estimate that 20% of our readers are members of underrepresented minorities:

Our understanding of the demographics of our audience comes from our e-mail subscriber survey and the information users provide when they create a profile for our credentials bank.

The best candidate pool

The readers of Inside Higher Ed are the mobile, dynamic higher education professionals you want to hire — in fact, 46% have been in their current jobs for three years or less.

About 10% of our readers say they’re on the job hunt, but 33% of them say they do take a look at the jobs when they’re on the site to keep an eye on what’s happening in their field. And ALL Inside Higher Ed readers are seeing your open jobs as they read the articles and comment on the topics discussed on the site.

When they are in the market for new jobs, 92% say that they look at jobs online vs. only 36% who do so in print.

And among our readers, Inside Higher Ed is their top choice for searching for jobs. Only 37% use HEJ.com and not even half use The Chronicle of Higher Education.
