New Programs: Mechatronics, Game and Simulation Programming, Historic Preservation, Environmental Studies

Colorado State University at Pueblo is starting a new focus for a bachelor of science in engineering degree in the fall. The new emphasis is on mechatronics, which combines mechanical and electrical engineering with computers.

DeVry University plans to start a new bachelor's degree in game and simulation programming in March. The degree will be offered at DeVry's California campuses in Long Beach, Pomona, and West Hills.

Goucher College is starting a certificate program in historic preservation, to be offered in Annapolis this fall. Goucher, which is based in Baltimore, already offers a certificate program in historic preservation in Washington, but the Annapolis program will focus on the traditions of maritime regions.

Hollins and Illinois Wesleyan Universities are both adding majors in environmental studies, starting in the fall.
