  • Boston University is starting a four-month graduate diploma program in entrepreneurial management. The program will mix traditional classroom instruction with briefings from successful business leaders.
  • The College of St. Catherine, in Minnesota, is offering a new certificate program for people seeking to obtain a reimbursement analyst certificate. The program trains people for jobs in the growing profession of people who deal with health insurance claims.
  • Duquesne University is starting a master of science in sports leadership. The degree program -- to be offered entirely online -- will train professionals in sports to deal with issues such as diversity, negotiations, ethics, and conflict resolution.
  • Lipscomb University is offering three new master's programs in education: a master of arts in learning and teaching, a master of arts in special education, and a master of arts in administrative stewardship.
  • Texas A&M University this fall has a new department of nutrition and food science. The department brings together many courses and academic programs that were previously offered at the university in other departments, such as animal science and horticulture.
  • The University of Cincinnati this fall is starting a new track -- transportation design -- in its College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning. The primary emphasis will be on designing cars.
