  • The National Association for College Admission Counseling on Thursday released an updated version of its guide for prospective college students. The guide is designed to help students understand their rights, and the new version offers additional guidance on resisting "high pressure" tactics by recruiters.
  • A study released by a psychiatrist in Washington State find that Ultimate Frisbee rankings -- more than SAT averages -- predict the level of academic success at a university. The study examined private national universities that had club teams playing the sport, and found that universities with top ranked teams had higher graduation rates and more Rhodes Scholars than other universities. The son of the study's author, who helped with research, is on a U.S. national team in the sport.
