New Presidents or Provosts: Eastern New Mexico U., Macalester College, Northeastern U., Southern U., U. of Wisconsin-Madison, Western Michigan U.

Stephen W. Director, provost at Drexel University, in Pennsylvania, has been chosen as provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Northeastern University.

Timothy J. Greene, dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Western Michigan University, has been promoted to provost and vice president for academic affairs there.

Jamie C. Laurenz, associate vice president for research and academic support at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, has been named vice president for academic affairs at Eastern New Mexico University.

Kofi Lomotey, executive vice president, provost and professor of education at Fisk University, in Tennessee, has been appointed as chancellor of Southern University and A&M College at Baton Rouge.

Carolyn A. (Biddy) Martin, provost at Cornell University, has been named chancellor of the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

Kathleen M. Murray, provost and vice president for academic affairs at Birmingham-Southern College, in Alabama, has been selected as provost at Macalester College, in Minnesota.
