- Mercer University, in Georgia, is starting a Ph.D. program in nursing.
- Robert Morris University, in Pennsylvania, is starting two online master's degrees, one in instructional leadership and one in business education.
- Tidewater Community College is starting a certificate program in geographic information systems.
- The University of South Dakota is starting master's degree programs in computer science on the campuses of three tribal colleges: Sinte Gleska University, Oglala Lakota College and Sisseton Wahpeton College.
