New Presidents or Provosts: Confederation College, Ivy Tech CC-Wabash Valley, Marymount U., U. of Toledo, Western Connecticut State U., Yuba CC District

Jane McBride Gates, dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Savannah State University, has been named the new provost and academic vice president at Western Connecticut State University.

Douglas B. Houston, superintendent/president of the Lassen Community College District, in California, has been selected as chancellor of the Yuba Community College District, also in California.

Jim Madder, executive vice president-academic at Red Deer College, in Alberta, has been named president of Confederation College, in Ontario.

William McMillen, interim provost and vice president for government relations at the University of Toledo, has been appointed provost and executive vice president for academic affairs on a permanent basis.

Matthew D. Shank, dean of the School of Business Administration at the University of Dayton, in Ohio, has been chosen as president of Marymount University, in Virginia.

Ann M. Valentine, president of Minnesota State Community and Technical College, has been appointed as chancellor of Ivy Tech Community College's Wabash Valley Region.
