New Presidents or Provosts: American Public U. System, Brevard College, Davis

Bertil Andersson, provost at Nanyang Technological University, in Singapore, has been elevated to president there.

Steve Daniel, former vice president of economic development programs at Flint River Technical College, in Georgia, has been appointed provost at Southern Crescent Technical College, also in Georgia.

Mary Beth Hanner, interim provost and former vice president for outcomes assessment and institutional research at Excelsior College, in New York, has been promoted to provost and chief academic officer there.

David C. Joyce, president of Ripon College, in Wisconsin, has been named president of Brevard College, in North Carolina.

Michael P. Mihalyo Jr., chair of the division of fine arts at Brevard College, in North Carolina, has been selected as provost and professor of music at Davis & Elkins College, in West Virginia.

Karan Powell, senior vice president and academic dean at American Public University System, has been chosen as provost there.
