The Killer Outside Me: Marginality in Contemporary French Crime Cinema (NEMLA 2013)

This panel seeks to explore the notion of (social, cultural, sexual, racial, political, and aesthetic) marginality in contemporary French crime cinema. We are particularly interested in papers that address marginality in relation to the changing conditions of production that have occurred within the genre in France over the past three decades. All theoretical approaches are welcome, including comparative studies involving non-French film cultures.
