Death in Children's Literature from Around the World (NEMLA 2013)
Recently children’s literature has begun to focus on death as a physical reality, philosophical concept, and social construct rather than as a tool to achieve a didactic or narrative agenda. Proposals are invited for a panel on the verbal and visual depiction of death in children’s literature. Ideally, this panel will have a range of theoretical perspectives and literatures from varied cultural backgrounds, decades, genres, and media forms. Please submit a 250-500 word abstract ...
