Inside Higher Ed Hires 2 Reporters
Steve Kolowich and Jennifer Epstein join expanding editorial staff
Washington, D.C., August 14, 2009 — Inside Higher Ed has hired Steve Kolowich, a staff writer at the National Journal Group's Global Security Newswire, and Jennifer Epstein, who writes for Time magazine's online politics page, to join its growing editorial team.
Kolowich, who will cover technology issues and other topics at Inside Higher Ed, comes to the daily online publication from Global Security Newswire, where he writes about weapons proliferation and other subjects. He also freelances about music for Washington City Paper. Kolowich covered academic technology as an intern at The Chronicle of Higher Education, which honored him last spring with its David W. Miller Award for Young Journalists. He graduated from Bowdoin College, where he majored in government and legal studies and philosophy. While there, he edited The Bowdoin Orient and interned at The Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel.
Epstein joins Inside Higher Ed from The Page, Time's politics site, where she is an assistant writer/producer. She is a former intern at Inside Higher Ed and a graduate of Princeton University, where she majored in history and was managing editor of The Daily Princetonian.
