Donald P. Christian, interim president and provost and vice president for academic affairs at the State University of New York at New Paltz, has been promoted to president on a permanent basis.The Rev. John P. Fitzgibbons, associate provost for faculty development at Marquette University, in Wisconsin, has been named president of Regis University, in Colorado. Lori Gonzalez, dean of the College of Health Sciences at the University of Kentucky, has been chosen as provost and executive vice chancellor at Appalachian State University, in North Carolina.Bonita Jacobs, executive director of the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students at the University of North Texas, has been selected as president of North Georgia College & State UniversityCarolyn A. (Biddy) Martin, chancellor of the University of Wisconsin at Madison, has been appointed as president of Amherst College, in Massachusetts.Chris Redman, acting president of Haskell Indian Nations University, in Nebraska, has been named to the job on a permanent basis.
