Austin Community College is one of 50 community college districts in Texas, providing access to quality education at affordable tuition rates to more than 65,000 credit and non-credit students. In addition to low tuition, students are able to take advantage of small classes, convenient locations, and great instructors. ACC offers university transfer curriculum, technical certificate programs, two-year associate degrees, foundation skills and English as a Second Language courses, and a highly diverse Continuing Education program. ACC functions as an independent institution and operates seven campuses throughout Greater Austin as well as 40 other locations in the ACC District. Set and periodically revised by the state Legislature, the ACC District encompasses all of the following counties: Travis, Hays, Bastrop, Caldwell, Blanco, Gillespie, and parts of both Gonzales and Williamson Counties. Acc’s faculty and instructional programs meet the same accreditation standards as other public colleges and universities. Statistics from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board indicate that ACC’s transfer students generally perform as well or better than students who begin at a four-year college or university. ACC’s workforce, continuing education, and customized training programs are highly regarded by the business sector.
