Suffolk University, a four-year independent university located on Boston’s historic Beacon Hill, affords its students, faculty, and staff the best of life in the city combined with all of the advantages of a small, caring campus community. Founded in 1906 as a law school dedicated to providing educational opportunity to hard-working students, the University established the College of Arts and Sciences in 1934 and the Sawyer Business School in 1937.

The College of Arts and Sciences
More than 70 programs of study are offered in the College of Arts and Sciences, including art and design through the College's New England School of Art and Design, theatre arts, biology, biochemistry, computer science, education, English, government, history, philosophy, physics, sociology, and more. The Sawyer Business School
The Sawyer Business School is a global business school, offering undergraduate and graduate programs of study. The school’s ten undergraduate programs include accounting, finance, entrepreneurship, management, public management, and marketing. Ten graduate degree programs in business and public management are offered, along with more than a dozen joint degree programs. Suffolk Law School
In law firms throughout the country, their own practices, the judiciary, or the public sector, Suffolk Law graduates are known for their knowledge, competence, ethics, and dedication.
Suffolk Law School's expansive curriculum combines a strong academic foundation with concentration programs in civil litigation, financial services, health and biomedical law, intellectual property, and international law. Nine clinical programs are offered, including the Battered Women’s Advocacy Program, Disability Advocacy Clinic, Juvenile Justice Center, Housing and Consumer Protection Clinic, and Suffolk Prosecutors and Defenders programs. The Law School also offers a variety of joint degree programs and a master of laws degree in global technology. Facilities
Suffolk University’s Boston campus includes 15 buildings in the heart of downtown Boston, adjacent to the Massachusetts State House and Boston Common. The Boston campus has two residence halls and three libraries, including a state-of-the-art library that opened in May 2006. International campuses are located in Madrid, Spain and Dakar, Senegal. The University’s Friedman Research Station is in Cobscook Bay, Maine.

Suffolk University is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, AACSB International. The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, American Bar Association, American Chemical Society, American Psychological Association, National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration, American Association of Law Schools, International Association of Counseling Centers, Foundation for Interior Design Education and Research (FIDER), and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).

Suffolk University has earned national recognition by The Princeton Review, Barron’s Best Buys in College Education, Octameron’s Best Colleges for the Real World, U.S. News & World Report: Best Universities Masters, the Association of International Educators, and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), which named Physics Professor Walter Johnson the 2005 Massachusetts Professor of the Year.
