Founded in 1904, Washington Adventist University is a residential Christian institution welcoming students of all faiths and backgrounds focused on preparing individuals for lives of service, leadership, and civic engagement.

The University’s 19 acre campus of classic architectural distinction and natural beauty is strategically located in Takoma Park, Maryland, a safe and desirable residential neighborhood of historic homes and parks bordering Washington, DC. The proximity to the nation’s capital and the world headquarters of the church offers students outstanding internship and cooperative educational experiences, and a wide array of enriching artistic and cultural opportunities.

Academics
The University offers bachelor and graduate degrees including acclaimed programs in nursing, music and pre-professions through three schools: School of Arts and Social Sciences; School of Health Professions, Science and Wellness; and School of Graduate and Professional Studies. In addition, the Adventist Church has an expansive international network of colleges and universities, which provides students a wide variety of exciting study abroad opportunities to enhance learning.
Student Life
The University offers world class performing arts groups and is the only Adventist institution offering NCAA Division II athletics. Students also participate in intramural sports, numerous groups and clubs, worship and service outreach as well as other opportunities for student involvement.
