The Lambda Chi Alpha national fraternity has suspended its chapter at Southern Methodist University for at least five years for multiple "health and safety" rules violations that it declined to identify, angering the group's members, The Dallas Morning News reported. SMU officials said the university had received no reports of illegal activity or misconduct, and a representative of the fraternity chapter told The Daily Campus, the student newspaper that first reported the closure, that the incidents that caused the shutdown were "isolated" and "not extreme."
