Faculty Layoffs at Simpson

Simpson College, in Iowa, has announced the layoffs of 13 full-time employees, 12 of them faculty members, The Des Moines Register reported. Ten faculty positions were eliminated in the spring. The college's art department will also be eliminated. Simpson officials cited declining enrollments and shifting student interests to explain the layoffs.
