Real recruiting success stories from Inside Higher Ed advertisers

Ruth Molina-Walker
Recruitment Specialist - Human Resources
Bridgewater State College

Inside Higher Ed is one of our most consistent recruiting partners. We invested in a bridge that allows jobs to be posted from our PeopleAdmin ATS system directly to their site. It makes using Inside Higher Ed so easy that we almost take it for granted! It's a tremendous asset, allowing us to save time and money.

We really feel connected with Inside Higher Ed. They're fun to work with and provide very responsive service. For example, we developed a problem with the jobs transferring from our PeopleAdmin system to Inside Higher Ed. Folks from both companies communicated with us and with each other and solved the problem quickly. We felt well taken care of.

That collaborative approach really benefits clients. Inside Higher Ed has developed creative partnerships to make it more valuable to recruiters.

They're an exciting company.

I'd highly recommend Inside Higher Ed to my colleagues. We've been very happy with our contract in terms of value and service.

Gretchen Van Natta
Vice President of Human Resources
Roosevelt University

Roosevelt is a rapidly growing and very forward-looking institution. More than half our 243 full-time faculty have been hired since 2003.

Inside Higher Ed is a great fit with the dynamic environment at our school. The site is very appealing to job seekers and easy to use.

We centralized our recruiting efforts in conjunction with the Provost's office in 2007, and Inside Higher Ed is the most valuable single tool we've added since making that change. We've virtually eliminated print advertising except for the disciplinary journals. And we're drawing good, diverse candidate pools - significantly more diverse than previously. While I can't draw a direct cause and effect, Inside Higher Ed is one significant variable.

I've been amazed by the ease of working with Inside Higher Ed. We have a direct feed from our PeopleAdmin applicant tracking system to Inside Higher Ed and it's been seamless. I'm also pleased that Inside Higher Ed is focusing on the issue of tracking candidate sources - that's an area that needs attention and their new tracking options are a good first step.

I give Inside Higher Ed the highest marks for value, service and ease of use. It's a company I'd recommend to my colleagues without reservation.

Robert Kunczt
Director of Human Resources
University of the Incarnate Word

Inside Higher Ed is a solid value for my recruiting dollar. By working with Inside Higher Ed I've been able to greatly reduce expensive print advertising - and even the more expensive Web sites - with no negative impact on the quality or quantity of incoming applications. I'd certainly recommend Inside Higher Ed to colleagues looking for good results at a lower cost.

Ann Penn
Equal Opportunity/ADA Officer
University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill

Our departments were complaining about the high cost of print advertising. Our provost's office purchased Inside Higher Ed's reasonably priced unlimited posting package as a way to do national advertising at no cost to individual departments. Now the Equal Opportunity Office is paying for the package. We're now getting many applicants via Inside Higher Ed and our advertising expenses have really dropped. The unlimited posting package is a great value and I'd definitely recommend it as a way to reduce advertising expenses without lowering the quality or quantity of applications coming in.

Jamie Cockerham
Employment & Compensation Coordinator, Human Resources
Gonzaga University

The Human Resources Department has put together an advertising package for all openings -- it includes a posting on our Web site, local newspaper advertising, posts on diversity listservs, and e-mailings. We added Inside Higher Ed in order to reach a national audience at a reasonable price. Inside Higher Ed has proved a great addition to our recruiting strategy.

The site is easy to use and I especially like the way I can check out other ads to see who's hiring, where our jobs might fit in the market, even ideas for how to write our ads. The site also has useful articles on what's happening at other institutions and in the employment market.

I'm pleased that Inside Higher Ed is adding click tracking to its services -- it's hard to know exactly where applicants are coming from and any additional insight is very useful.

Inside Higher Ed's customer service is very good -- I've rarely had problems, but when they have cropped up I've always been able to get a quick and helpful response. All in all, Inside Higher Ed has proved a good value for our recruiting needs and I'd recommend the site to my colleagues.

Jennifer Kostic, M.A., PHR
Academic Staffing Coordinator
Sinclair Community College

We began working with Inside Higher Ed a couple of years ago, largely because they offered to automate the job posting process via our PeopleAdmin applicant tracking system. I'd begun hearing about the site from colleagues and when I realized that our VP was a reader I decided the site was doing a great job of attracting the attention of the higher ed market. As an added bonus, posting jobs on Inside Higher Ed is just a question of checking off one box while entering a new posting in my own system -- it really couldn't be easier.

The quality and quantity of candidates we've been receiving has been quite good, enough so that we've opted to end our contract with another online service (a savings of $2,000 right out of the gate) and significantly reduce our spending on print advertising as well. There's no question that recruiting with Inside Higher Ed has saved Sinclair Community College real money on our recruiting costs.

I like the fact that the site writes about community college issues -- and even has a special index to their community college coverage. And since we're hiring a lot of part-time faculty, their strong readership among adjuncts is a benefit as well.

The folks at Inside Higher Ed are terrific to work with. Our account rep is very responsive and always ready to answer questions or provide assistance. Their customer service is just excellent.

I'd recommend Inside Higher Ed to my colleagues at community colleges, and any higher ed institution looking for great recruiting results at a lower cost.
