Overseeding

In cold April here,
the college closed
by graffiti,
I drop new seed
over old sod.

Students at home
and classrooms wait
for the all clear
and capture of some
sad scribbler.

I water the lawn.
The forsythia breathes.
We can only be
as honest as
the truths we know.

Nicely done. I hope the seeds of responsible and rational choice, hope and tolerance grow fertile and overcome the seeds of "discontent".
