Nice post.
What’s most disturbing about this, true as it is, is that higher education is the key to getting us back on a sound long-term economic path.
I recently got polled about my feelings regarding higher education funding — oddly, they didn’t actually ask me if I was in higher ed — and what I felt were the best arguments for maintaining or increasing funding in the face of static or shrinking state budgets. As odd as the experience was, I was heartened to see that someone in higher education is taking a proactive and politically astute approach to the budget process.
