Wow... impressive.I really worry about the engineering students—and there are a lot of them—who think that they will never have to write or read anymore because they’re becoming engineers. I don’t know where they get this idea, because if a student spent 5 minutes with any engineer or engineering faculty, that idea would be gone fast. With only minimal violent language.

I’ve read good bit of your writing, and I have always come away with a chuckle and little better understanding of the machinations working to educate me. This one really resonated, though. As an engineer/meathead/Unofficial-puker, I know the feeling you saw in him (and probably a lot of us here) all too well. I enjoy writing and yearn for good reading, but when the work load is heavy my Rhet class is the first to suffer. I try to resist, but it feels like every second spent in that class is meant to make me struggle for doing so.

Loved the recipe. Cornbread flour not being available locally I substitued polenta — (neither is pork but I bring some back whenever I travel to the US) — go light on the cinnamon, it can be overpowering especially if you grind your own spices....

I’m a Daniel’s student in a TOFLE class.i’m glad to see Daniel’s writntg here. Sometimes l’ll visit this homepage and leave the message for you!

I want to say that Daniel is the best teacher/native speaker that i’ve ever met. he is a tri-linlual person and has a great ability to soak up all the sounds and imitate them perfectly. Because I’ve studied linguistics and how languages are learned, i know how amazing his language competence is! Due to his outstanding feat, he seem to carry through any occasion in Korea.I expect Daniel’s writings to be continued.

Input for blog for ESL students

Hey, this was a great post and I will spend sometime digesting it, comparing it to my experiences. I work as a tutor and university placement advisor in Astana, Kazakhstan. At the moment, I am putting together a blog with useful information and interesting stuff for foreign students who want to study in the US.
