What is it about April?

The academic year started some eight months ago, and maybe eight months is about as far as any of us can go on a single tank of bio-diesel. Then spring comes along, with its potential and its expectations and its demands on what little energy we have left.

This year, April's even more like itself. Not so much in being mud season (we've actually had a fairly dry spring where I am), but in coming at the end of five-plus months of winter.

I say "the end", but when I got up this morning, the barn thermometer showed twenty above (Fahrenheit). I'm more than ready to start the day at twenty above (Celsius). Maybe tomorrow.
