Three, two, one;
The countdown concludes.
Our grades are submitted.
The meetings and parties are over.
Our advisees are registered for next semester.
Cards are (possibly) sent.
Our children’s teachers have received their gifts,
And more gifts wait for Santa’s arrival.
And now is the time to rest
So, put your arms around your children
And your hands around some hot cocoa.
Sink deeply into a sofa
In front of a lighted tree.
Play some ancient songs
To the sound of silence that has been missing for so long.
And if you are still long enough, you may even hear
The soft cries of a newborn baby.
Wishing all of my readers who celebrate Christmas a Merry and Blessed Weekend.
I’ll see you back here in the New Year!
