Cartoon Caption Contest

Cartoon Caption Contest

Welcome to Inside Higher Ed's monthly Cartoon Caption Contest, featuring the work of Matthew Henry Hall. Each month, we will invite readers to suggest an apt, clever, funny or otherwise outstanding caption for a new cartoon; submissions can be made in the comments section below that cartoon or, if you insist, via e-mail at newsroom@insidehighered.com. (Readers are encouraged to like or endorse their favorites in the comments section, too.)

Vote for your favorite caption for last month's cartoon

And the Winner is...

Congratulations to Louise Freeman, a professor of psychology at Mary Baldwin College and winner of our July competition. Her caption for the cartoon at left -- "Professor Bob quickly realized that asking his introductory statistics students to calculate 10% of 150 without using a calculator was an exercise in futility." -- received more votes from our readers than the other two finalists. She will receive an Amazon gift certificate and a copy of the cartoon signed by Matthew Henry Hall. Thanks to all for playing.
