Based in Paramus, New Jersey, Bergen Community College (www.bergen.edu), a public two-year coeducational college, enrolls more than 14,000 students at locations in Paramus, the Philip Ciarco Jr. Learning Center in Hackensack and Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands in Lyndhurst. Accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, the College offers associate degree, certificate and continuing education programs in a variety of fields. More students graduate from Bergen than any other community college in the state of New Jersey.

Bergen’s Paramus Campus

Centrally located in Paramus, Bergen’s main campus reflects the College’s mission to provide affordable, diverse and flexible academic offerings for students at all levels of learning. Venues such as the Anna Maria Ciccone Theatre, the School of Continuing Education and the Moses Family Meeting & Training Center are all located here.

Bergen’s Ciarco Learning Center in Hackensack

Opened in 1971, Bergen Hackensack is located in the Philip Ciarco, Jr. Learning Center on Main Street in downtown Hackensack, with free parking, access to public transportation and many excellent, inexpensive lunch and snack options nearby. At Bergen Hackensack, students can access many of the same high quality educational opportunities and student support services they do at the main campus in Paramus.

Bergen at the Meadowlands

The mission of Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands is to provide an affordable and quality education that gives students a competitive advantage in the global marketplace and access to the best employment opportunities. Bergen Community College at the Meadowlands offers a convenient and flexible educational environment that promotes lifelong learning and achievement closer to home.

 

STEM Student Research Center

Bergen Community College recently opened a $1 million STEM Student Research Center at the College’s main campus. Students will have the opportunity to conduct their own research and invent the future with access to supercomputers, 3D printers, drones, robotics, a Tormach machine, and more. More than 2,000 enrolled STEM students take advantage of programs such as engineering science, computer science and biology while completing research projects in- and outside the classroom. Projects have included converting a softball field house into a workshop, high-altitude balloon launches, retrofitting a gas combustion truck and motorcycle into electric vehicles and conducting experimental testing with wind turbines and solar panels. STEM has remained a focus area for Bergen, as it secured numerous grants to enhance its offerings.
