Finger Lakes Community College

About FLCC

Finger Lakes Community College is a public, open access institution serving Ontario, Seneca, Wayne and Yates counties in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. In addition to the main campus, FLCC provides instruction at its campus centers in Victor, Geneva and Newark and at its two field stations: The East Hill Campus in Naples and the Muller Field Station on Honeoye Lake. FLCC is part of the 64-campus State University of New York system, which includes a total of 30 community colleges. The College is sponsored by Ontario County and is governed by a 10-member Board of Trustees, including one student trustee.

The College has recently celebrated its 50th anniversary (originally called Community College of the Finger Lakes), and moved to its now 250-acre main campus in 1975. The grounds include an arboretum, two nature trails, a pond, competition fields and a cross country course that has hosted the NJCAA Division III championship. The main campus building features a nursing lab, two music recording studios, a TV studio, greenhouse, 400-seat auditorium and a One Stop Center for all enrollment services. FLCC is among the largest employers in the community with full-and part-time faculty and staff, including adjunct instructors. We serve approximately 6,000 students. Full-time faculty mentor and support new members through the reappointment and tenure process by participating in the work of tenure teams. Faculty and staff contribute to the governance process through the Academic Senate, which makes recommendations to the president on academic policies and related matters, and College Council, which makes recommendations to the president on college wide issues. In 2016, the Academic Senate and the Board of Trustees adopted the FLCC values: vitality, inquiry, perseverance and interconnectedness, which guide the College’s work and serve as institutional learning outcomes.

Finger Lakes Community College is actively recruiting individuals from diverse backgrounds. FLCC recognizes diversity to be presented in a myriad of forms to include, but not limited to, individual differences (e.g., personality, prior knowledge, and life experiences) and group/social differences (e.g., race/ethnicity, class, gender/sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, socioeconomic status, language, culture, values, mental and physical ability, country of origin, learning style, world-view, military status, as well as cultural, political, religious, or other affiliations).  FLCC is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, and strives to provide an environment that embodies these principles. As such, applicants from historically under-represented groups are highly encouraged to apply.
