Hesston College is used to unique and not quite fitting into any of the pre-determined boxes. As a two-year, private, liberal arts college, Hesston is a Christ-centered community with a unique emphasis on relationships and how to genuinely do them well. Founded in 1909 in Hesston, Kansas, Hesston College is a part of Mennonite Church USA and is committed to serving people of all backgrounds and traditions.

Offering more than 50 programs of study for transfer, and three career programs, including a bachelor of science in nursing degree, Hesston promotes the importance of a well-rounded general education and the transformation that takes place in students in the first two years of the college experience as foundational for life, further study and a career. On average, 60 percent of Hesston graduates transfer after two years to continue working toward an undergraduate degree, and 40 percent complete career programs at Hesston.

Faculty and staff take seriously the job of walking with and mentoring students as they explore, grow and discover more about themselves, the world and those around them.

Hesston College, a college of Mennonite Church USA, educates and nurtures each student within Christ-centered community, integrating thought, life and faith for service to others in the church and the world. Hesston College does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.

With an institution-wide focus on broadening global engagement launched a year ago, diversity at Hesston College is on the rise. For fall 2018, 56 international students are enrolled from 22 countries, which is 13 percent of total enrollment. While the percent of international students within the student body held steady from 2017, the countries students call home grew in 2018, widening the college’s global reach. U.S. students represent 28 U.S. states and territories, including about 51 percent from Kansas and 36 percent from other U.S. states and territories.

Hesston is committed to being an institution that welcomes students from all backgrounds and beliefs. Nearly 21 percent of students come from the Anabaptist-Mennonite faith tradition, and more than 30 other Christian denominations and world religions comprise the campus community.
