McGraw-Hill Education announced a new collaboration between its recently formed McGraw-Hill Education Learning Science Research Council and Colorado State University (CSU) to find new ways to use analytics to strengthen learning outcomes for CSU students taking science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) gateway courses. The collaboration will use advanced techniques in learning analytics and educational data mining to reduce Drop-Fail-Withdraw (DFW) rates. A research study underway at CSU is focusing initially on testing and validating predictive models for course completion.
