University of Maryland Will Accept OnlineDegree.com Credits
March 13, 2019

University of Maryland University College will accept courses from OnlineDegree.com, a provider of free online courses built on open educational resources and an open-source learning platform.

The university will accept credits from 15 of the provider's courses, each of which counts for three UMUC credits. Topics include cosmology, marketing, programming and public health.

Graduates of OnlineDegree.com courses may also be eligible for a 25 percent discount on UMUC's out-of-state tuition.

Inside Higher Ed last year profiled OnlineDegree.com, which currently has partnerships with several institutions including Colorado State University Global Campus.

Terms of the UMUC deal were not disclosed.
