  • Virginia Commonwealth University is starting a program this fall in homeland security and emergency preparedness.
  • Wells College is starting a new minor in first nations and indigenous studies. The primary focus of the minor is on peoples of North and South America, but looks also at indigenous peoples in places such as New Zealand and Australia.
  • DePaul University’s School for New Learning is offering a graduate degree program in parenting education and support and a program leading to a master of arts in educating adults.
  • The Higher Education Division of Kaplan, Inc. is opening a new Maric College in Fresno, Cal., with an emphasis on training health professionals.
  • The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia is now offering an online MBA in pharmaceutical business.
  • Peru State College, in Nebraska, is now offering six of its bachelor’s degree programs and one master’s degree online.
  • Dowling College's Townsend School of Business is now offering six post-bachelor’s certificates in human resource management, international business and ethical leadership, health care management, financial management of nonprofit organizations, project management, and marketing management.
  • Excelsior College is offering power plant technology as a new specialty of its associate degree in science.
