New Programs: Education, Urban Public Health, International Law, Science and Business

  • California State University at Long Beach plans to start a doctoral program in education in the fall of 2007. Recent legislation in California opened up the possibility for California State campuses to offer such programs.
  • The Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, in Los Angeles, will start a master of public health program in the fall, with a focus on health issues in urban areas.
  • New York University and the National University of Singapore will start a dual degree program in Singapore in which students will earn master's degrees in law from both institutions. Emphases will include Asian law, trade and human rights.
  • Western Carolina University has started a new master's degree in science and entrepreneurship. The program is designed for students with a bachelor's degree in science who want to advance their scientific knowledge while also learning about business and having internships that will prepare them for careers.
