  • Ronald C. Heacock, interim vice chancellor for instructional programs and services at San Jacinto Community College, in Texas, has been appointed president of Adirondack Community College, of the State University of New York.
  • Richard H. Heist, dean of engineering at Manhattan College, in New York, has been named provost, senior vice president and professor of engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, in Florida.
  • Paul L. Joskow, professor of economics and management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and director of the MIT Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research, has been named president of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
  • Lesley M. Lovett-Doust, dean of science and environmental studies and professor of biology at Lakehead University, in Ontario, has been selected as provost at Michigan Technological University.
  • Tomás (Tom) D. Morales, university provost and vice president for academic affairs and professor of education at California State Polytechnic University at Pomona, has been appointed as president of the College of Staten Island, of the City University of New York.
  • Robert E. Palazzo, acting provost, director of the Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies, and professor of biology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in New York, has been promoted to provost there.
  • Randall J. VanWagoner, vice president for learning and academic affairs at Metropolitan Community College, in Nebraska, has been named president of Mohawk Valley Community College, of the State University of New York.
