New Programs: Construction Management, Health and Kinesiology, Theater, Psychology and Child Development, Environmental Studies, Criminal Justice and Nursing

  • Chattanooga State Community College, Cleveland State Community College and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga are offering a joint degree in construction management, which can be taken through a 2+2 program by starting at one of the community colleges.
  • The University of Houston is starting a master's degree in theater. The program, for which courses are offered in the summer, is designed for middle and high school teachers.
  • The University of Texas at San Antonio is starting a master's degree in health and kinesiology.
  • Ursinus College is starting a minor in film studies.
  • Walden University, which has focused on online graduate programs, is starting bachelor of science degrees in psychology and child development.
  • Worcester Polytechnic University is starting a bachelor of arts in environmental studies.
  • Xavier University, in Ohio, is starting a dual degree program in which students would earn a master of science in nursing (with a forensic concentration) and a master of science in criminal justice. Students would be prepared for non-traditional jobs in criminal justice, including positions related to planning for bioterrorism and disasters.
