The following colleges and universities have announced their commencement speakers for spring 2011:

  • Alma College: Davidson Hepburn, president of the 35th General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
  • Case Western Reserve University: Scott Cowen, president of Tulane University.
  • Eckerd College: U.S. Senator Bill Nelson of Florida.
  • New England Institute of Technology: Curt Schilling, former pitcher for Boston Red Sox,
  • Nyack College: Joel C. Hunter, senior pastor of Northland, a Church Distributed, in Florida.
  • Ozarks Technical Community College: Governor Jay Nixon of Missouri.
  • Pomona College: Steven Chu, U.S. secretary of energy.
  • Shepherd University: Jim Lehrer, anchor of "PBS NewsHour."
  • Spelman College: First Lady Michelle Obama.
  • Stephens College: Gail Collins, columnist for The New York Times.
  • University of Maryland at College Park: DeMaurice Smith, executive director of the National Football League Players Association.
  • University of the Pacific: Vicente Fox, the former president of Mexico.
  • University of Southern Indiana: Brad Ellsworth, former member of Congress.
