The Lumina Foundation for Education on Monday announced a $3 million grant to help students at colleges that were affected by Hurricane Katrina. Of the funds, $2 million will go to students who attended community or technical colleges in Louisiana or Mississippi. An estimated $14.5 million that the University of Notre Dame will earn for its Fiesta Bowl appearance will go to three academic projects.
