Kim Bottomly, deputy provost for science, technology and faculty development at Yale University, has been named president of Wellesley College.
David L. Callender, associate vice chancellor and chief executive officer of the University of California at Los Angeles Hospital System, has been selected as president of the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
Desdemona Cardoza, professor of psychology and dean of the College of Natural and Social Sciences at California State University at Los Angeles, has been promoted to provost and vice president for academic affairs.
Charlene M. Dukes, vice president for student services at Prince George's Community College, has been promoted to president there.
John M. Dunn, interim chancellor of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, has been chosen as president of Western Michigan University.
Tracy Fitzsimmons, senior vice president and vice president for academic affairs at Shenandoah University, has been promoted to president, effective July 2008.
Gloria Cordes Larson, a lawyer and former aide to Massachusetts Gov. William Weld, has been named president of Bentley College.
Russ Meyer, interim provost and dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Colorado State University at Pueblo, has been promoted to provost and chief academic officer there.
