Carmen Twillie Ambar, dean of Douglass College at Rutgers University, in New Jersey, has been named president of Cedar Crest College, in Pennsylvania.
Stephen Beal, provost of California College of the Arts, has been promoted to president there.
Robert C. Holub, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, has been appointed chancellor of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Jeff Marsee, vice president of administrative services at El Camino College, in California, has been selected as president of College of the Redwoods, also in California.
Mark Prus, dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at the State University of New York at Cortland, has been promoted to provost and vice president for academic affairs there.
Cleveland Sellers, director of the African American studies program at the University of South Carolina, has been chosen as president of Voorhees College, in South Carolina.
Joel Smirnoff, first violinist of the Juilliard String Quartet and chair of the violin department at the Juilliard School, in New York, has been named president of the Cleveland Institute of Music.
