Laura McFarland

Laura McFarland, Vice President of Sales, came to Inside Higher Ed in 2005 with a strong background in publishing and advertising sales management. Most recently she was the business director for The Chronicle of Higher Education and The Chronicle of Philanthropy, where she managed the sales and marketing activities for the recruitment advertising department. Prior to that she managed advertising sales at Legal Times, an award-winning weekly newspaper owned by American Lawyer Media. She began her professional career by working in advertising positions at a number of obscure associations around the Washington, D.C. area. Laura graduated from UCLA and received her master's degree in marketing from the University of Maryland University College. She lives with her husband, Dennis Wamsted, and their two children in Virginia.
