But the Federal Bureau of Investigation isn’t the only one with a bone to pick: as a result of the firing of Tom Jurich, the athletics director, a donor has reversed a $6 million pledge to the university's athletics department.

The federal government determined Will Milzarski to be permanently disabled -- a result of injuries sustained during his two tours in Afghanistan with the U.S. military -- and canceled his student loan debt. The Internal Revenue Service, however, is still trying to get money out of the Michigan veteran. The IRS, in light of the waiver of Milzarski's $223,000 student loan debt, which the agency is treating as income, is requesting Milzarski pay $62,000 in taxes. Michigan State University's Low-Income Tax Clinic is challenging the move on behalf of Milzarski.

The University of California, Santa Cruz, Police Department arrested three students for disrupting a meeting organized by College Republicans and College Democrats Sunday night. A Santa Cruz spokesman, Scott Hernandez-Jason, said the students who were arrested refused repeated requests from other students, staff and police officers to leave a conference room booked by the College Republicans in the library.
