Trenda Boyum-Breen is chief academic officer at Rasmussen College, in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minn. Her higher education career spans Texas and Minnesota, at nonprofit and for-profit institutions: her experience at community and technical colleges, a for-profit online university, a private liberal arts university, a state university, and her current for-profit institution allows her a unique perspective as an administrator who crossed between the sectors. Boyum-Breen and her wife are recent “empty nesters” with two daughters in college.
