April 16, 2008

In cold April here,
the college closed
by graffiti,
I drop new seed
over old sod.

Students at home
and classrooms wait
for the all clear
and capture of some
sad scribbler.

I water the lawn.
The forsythia breathes.
We can only be
as honest as
the truths we know.
