The 2019 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded this morning to James Peebles of Princeton University and Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz of the University of Geneva. Peebles won half the prize "for theoretical discoveries in physical cosmology." Mayor and Queloz shared the other half of the prize "for the discovery of an exoplanet orbiting a solar-type star."
