In today’s Academic Minute, the University of Notre Dame's Jill Lany discusses the complex nature of an infant’s ability to learn language. Lany is an assistant professor of psychology at Notre Dame, where she studies early cognitive development. Her research addresses the question of how infants’ sensitivity to seemingly simple information about frequency and co-occurrence can facilitate learning complex patterns in the environment.
