Commencement Speakers Announced: Barnard, Benedictine, Cabrini, Excelsior, Hampshire, McDaniel, Meredith, Saint Peter's, Syracuse, Wagner, Washington State

The following colleges and universities have announced their commencement speakers for spring 2013:
- Barnard College: Leymah Gbowee, Liberian peace activist and recipient of the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize.
- Benedictine University: Scott Smith, mayor of Mesa, Ariz.
- Cabrini College: James J. Maguire, chairman emeritus and founder of Philadelphia Insurance Companies, and John McConnell, president of Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School.
- Excelsior College: Admiral Mike Mullen, U.S. Navy (Ret.), former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
- Hampshire College: Amy Goodman, host and executive producer of "Democracy Now!"
- McDaniel College: The husband-and-wife journalist team of Al Hunt (Bloomberg News) and Judy Woodruff (PBS NewsHour).
- Meredith College: Anne-Marie Slaughter, professor of international affairs at Princeton University.
- Saint Peter's University: Rev. James Martin, editor of the Roman Catholic magazine America.
- Syracuse University: Nicholas D. Kristof, columnist for The New York Times.
- Wagner College: Myrlie Evers-Williams, the civil rights leader.
- Washington State University: David Ensor, director of Voice of America.
