Colleges announce commencement speakers

Commencement Speakers Announced: Claremont Graduate U., College of William & Mary, Colorado College, Lafayette, LIM, Middlebury, Norwich, Sage, Salve Regina, Vassar, Western Conn. State, William Peace

The following colleges and universities have announced their commencement speakers for spring 2013:

  • Claremont Graduate University: Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, president and CEO of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
  • College of William & Mary: Robert S. Mueller III, director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
  • Colorado College: Marian Wright Edelman, the founder and president of the Children’s Defense Fund.
  • Lafayette College: Anne-Marie Slaughter, professor of international affairs at Princeton University.
  • LIM College: Mark Mendelson, president/CEO of Ellen Tracy.
  • Middlebury College: Jonathan Safran Foer, the author.
  • Norwich University: Rick Atkinson, the military historian.
  • Sage Colleges: Hamdi Ulukaya, president, founder and CEO of Chobani, Inc., which produces Chobani Greek Yogurt.
  • Salve Regina University: Master stone carvers Nicholas W. Benson and  John E. Benson.
  • Vassar College: Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a New York Democrat.
  • Western Connecticut State University:  Patricia Llodra, first selectman in Newtown, Conn.; and Janet Robinson, Newtown superintendent of schools.
  • William Peace University: Erskine Bowles, former president of the University of North Carolina System and former chief of staff to President Clinton.
