Iowa Lawmaker's 'Suck It Up, Buttercup' Bill

Iowa State Representative Bobby Kaufmann, a Republican, plans to propose legislation that would charge public universities $2 for every $1 in state funds spent on programs to comfort students upset about the presidential election results, The Des Moines Register reported. Kaufmann said he has been upset to read about what universities in other states are doing to comfort students and doesn't want that to happen in Iowa. Officials of state universities said that they are providing support but not using state dollars. Kaufmann plans to call his bill the "Suck It Up, Buttercup" bill.
